I am conducting some sort of award ceremony and doing a terrrible job of it. I know this and the audience is becoming restive. A girl sitting behind me, knowing I will not be calling her name for an award, mutters something about what a terrible job I am doing. I turn around and, instead of being angry, I ask her if she would like to help. I start handing her the cards that are in my hand, the ones saying which girl should be called next. At first she resists but then I see a light in her eyes turn on. She looks up at me with a new sense of self-worth. She cannot win this contest but she can still be center stage if I allow her to take my role over. She starts to stand, looking at me with incredible gratitude.
