Rob has angered a guest of my mother's and Larry's, more a friend of the latter than the former, and I am upset with him because I really wanted Rob to make a good impression.  There is no chance of this happening now.  Larry is politely cool as he ignores us both and focuses his attention on his guest, Jeff Foxworthy.  Although I agree with Rob that what JF said was inappropriate (even somewhat racist), I still am distressed that now Larry will never like Rob.
