I am in a bookstore and J K Rowling is there. She picks up a book and asks me if I've read it. When I say no but I hear it's good, she buys it and then gives it to me. Later, she offers me a piece of cheese that has the texture of a brie but is more mellow, almost bland, in flavor. She realizes that the cheese is not quite as advertised, not aged as much as she had hoped. Other people with whom she had shared the cheese are furious, outraged that the cheese is not older. Rowling herself is disappointed because she says she paid too much for a cheese that isn't aged more. I realize I should call Marc and tell him about the book so I call him but a strange woman answers, with a distinctly Asian accent. At first I think I have the wrong number but she says that Marc is there and something about video games. She calls him to the phone and I wait a bit. When he answers, he either pretends to not hear me or actually can't hear me. Although I think he's just pretending, I hang up and figure it's his loss, that he won't know about Rowling or anything else.
