I am tending to a baby and offering him a bottle. He has never had a bottle before and balks at first. I notice that the bottle seems to be steaming and I wonder if the formula is too hot. I test it on my wrist but it seems fine so I offer it to the baby again. He had a coffee tinged foam coming from his mouth and I press a drop of formula onto the foam. The white drop dissolves and I can see his tongue reaching out as his eyes open in acceptance. He wants more. I show him the bottle so he can see what it looks like and will be less resistant the next time he sees it. He takes the bottle enthusiastically and quickly grows into a toddler able to talk and make demands.
