This dream takes place in the past, a peasant community or medieval period. A group of very old men, priests or scholars of some sort with long grey and white beards, grizzled with age, are gathering in outrage, distressed to discover that a group of women are bleeding. To the side, three equally old women are standing, dressed in dark clothing, their heads covered with black veils. From between their legs flows blood, enough to create a streaming puddle between their bare feet. They stand, unashamed, confronting the frightened community and especially defying the ignorance of these men who think that this is abnormal or wrong.
Note: Today's entry in Goddesses for Every Day is about Rhea who is connected with the idea of flow. I immediately recognized the three women as maiden/mother/crone. The blood is possibly because I am late with this month's cycle but it is a curious coincidence that this dream and that goddess should occur on the same day.
