I am married to Keanu Reeves and I am understandably confused because people keep asking me if I am Asian or part Asian, which I find off-putting because the assumption is solely based on his mixed race heritage and implies that only another person of mixed race would want to be with him.  He is on the phone and, when he gets off and I tell him about the conversation, we are both laughing, amused, but he quickly dismisses it all to tell me about the conversation.  He is building a retreat center and very excited about this opportunity to share his love of meditation and discipline with the world.  It will be a blending of various teachings, offering people a chance to explore themselves creatively, spiritually, etc.  Very much like the New Age Health Spa only more open to the general community and more modern.

We hug and go to look at the facility which is about to open its doors in a few weeks, sometime in early January.  I ask him what he thinks I could do as part of this new part of his life.  This whole time I’ve been holding our daughter, an infant of about 8 months old with ash blonde hair.  He doesn’t know but says he knows he’ll think of something because he wants me to be a part of this and every other part of his life.  We kiss and I leave to meet him at home.  As I am walking away he suggests I could be the secretary.  I was thinking more along the lines of teaching a workshop, like something on journaling, or participating in a more direct role and not behind the scenes.  But he is already busy talking with someone about some detail and I know we can talk about it more later.

I stop at a store on my way home where they are playing some “world” music which is actually most drumming but not an aggressive movement rhythm so much as a meditative, even sensual, beat.  I consider buying the cd but my little girl is getting fussy and I know I need to head home so I can get things ready for my husband’s dinner.

(I have been taking this medical certification exam for about 8 months.)
