Mary and I are watching a video of a party I had attended with Rob.  I leave the room to refill our drinks and she comments on how she sees me but that, unfortunately, the angle of the camera really exaggerates how much weight I have gained.  "Your stomach looks so round."  She then says "I'm sorry you've gained so much weight."  I listen and say nothing because I am sorry too and especially sorry about it because others are not only noticing it but pitying me because of it.
