I am at a party and everyone is wearing black. I soon notice that everyone is a woman. As I walk through I think that I should invite Gina to the party because she would love it. I tell the hostess that I am going to be meeting with my friend Gina and we can come by later but we probably can’t stay for long as we do have other plans. The hostess says something along the lines of just having us there would be delightful, blah blah blah. We hug and she wanders off to mingle with others. I continue to weave my way through the crowd and I happen upon Jai, who is introduced to me by her true name Jennifer. After admitting we know one another I sit down and she, still as painfully slender as ever, sits on my lap like a child. “I always feel guilty when I see you because I still haven’t made amends to Gina.” I want to tell her that she should because it would mean a lot to Gina. I say nothing because a part of me is not sure it wouldn’t stir up pain for them both.
